Jeffrey Hall

Jeff is a founding member of La Mesa Sunrise Rotary. He was born in New York City. In 1973 he secured a B.A. from Rutgers, the state university of New Jersey. He followed this with a Doctor of Optometry from Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1977. Jeff is married to Fern Platt, our LMSR President for 2014-2015. Jeff is the proud father of three boys—Michael, 38, Aaron, 34, and Philip, age 32. He has four grandchildren—Mackie, Brody, Allie, and James.

 

Jeff is determined to succeed at any endeavor that he chooses to take on and to stick with it. This includes in his career as well as with avocations of his choice. Early in his life he achieved the status of an Eagle Scout. In addition he is a third degree black belt in tae kwon do. Jeff is currently a semi-retired optometrist with a 37-year career “under his eye chart”. He is also the “father of the LMSR garage sale” which spans 27 years and continues to “sale” on.

 

His hobbies include golf, playing the stock market, and travel.

 

His favorite books are “Moby Dick” and “A Tale of Two Cities”. “Chariots of Fire” is his favorite movie. He has a few favorite TV shows—“The Voice”, “Parenthood”, and “The Good Wife”.  Favorite car is a Prius. Jeff loves chocolate. He loves good old rock ‘n roll. The various colors at sunset count as his favorite colors. Jeff would have loved to meet or have met any U. S. President. His greatest pet peeve is ignorance.
